| Compliance and Applications L-854 Air to Ground, AM Radio Receiver/Decoder FAA Type 1, Style A AC 150/5345-49A Specification L-854 Radio Control Equipment AC 150/5345-1 Approved Airport Lighting Equipment ETL/ITS Certified The L-854 AM Radio Receiver Controller is designed to provide pilots direct unassisted air-to-ground control of airfield lighting systems. By keying their microphone 3, 5, or 7 times in a 5 second period, pilots can activate and vary lighting intensities. When the Receiver Controller detects a valid series of radio keys, the airfield lighting system will become energized to the selected intensity. The airfield lighting system will remain illuminated at the pilot selected intensity for a 15-minute interval, after which the system will automatically shut down. If the unit detects a new series of valid radio keys any time during an active 15-minute period, the lighting system changes to the selected intensity and a new 15-minute interval begins. By allowing continued operations during off or nighttime hours, the Receiver Controller is a particularly useful tool for managers of small to midsize airfields. The unit is a virtual necessity for remote sites where the volume of air traffic or the availability of qualified on-site control personnel may be limited. The Receiver Controller is easy to operate, extremely reliable and the unit’s revolutionary hi-tech design offers an impressive array of features with unparalleled flexibility. The unit is reasonably priced and supports a wide range of available options. Why Our Receiver Controller is Better |
